  1. I agree with ur views but they do imbibe values in the police training centers its just that the greed for money is more as their salaries r less, i had been to a traffic police station to get my bike in the morning u know the amount they had collected in one night was more than my CTC dunno where that money went.

  2. The bribing system in India is somewhat like a self sustaining closed loop. There are well known cases where in order to get a particular post in some govt service, one had to pay a hefty bribe to the higher authorities. So, it's a natural consequence that they try to recover that money. Before they know it, it becomes a habit, and so the loop continues... The point where it can be broken is to refuse to be a part of this loop. The onus lies on each one of us.

  3. As long as the concept of democracy exists, corruption will remain. I am not against democracy but in India the concept of "Freedom of..." is taken to illogical and unimaginable levels. Lets say one green day, corruption was suddenly removed from the system, then these guys will turn criminals robbing/killing more and more people everywhere and that too openly unlike below the table now to make up for the "unobtained" money. I had been to a local police station near my home in BSK 3rd stage to get their signature for my wifes passport. The subinspector over there was gleefully talking about MS being such a difficult course for students and that his son was studying MS in Manipal. Can you ever imagine a sub-inpector being able to spend so much as to send his son to Manipal college for MS!!! :). - Vikram Cavale
